Dalarna University

Dalarna University is a public higher education institution in central Sweden, roughly 200 kilometres north-west of Stockholm, with two campuses: Campus Falun at Högskolegatan 2 and Campus Borlänge at Stationsgatan 4, about 35 minutes apart by bus. It is one of Sweden's largest providers of online higher education: of some 17,430 registered students, around 14,000 study wholly or partly online, while roughly 4,000 study on campus. The University employs about 746 staff and reported 1,071 international students and 95 doctoral students. It offers around 67 programmes, including more than 20 at second-cycle level, and over 1,000 courses, with a substantial number of campus programmes taught entirely in English. Academic strengths include energy and solar engineering, construction and materials technology, tourism, health and welfare, teacher education, and language and intercultural studies, with research closely tied to regional industry and society. International students benefit from a housing guarantee arranged with the municipal housing companies Kopparstaden in Falun and Tunabyggen in Borlänge, plus a pick-up service on arrival.
