The master's programme in Real Estate and Construction Management will provide you with solid knowledge and understanding of real estate and construction management, along with the relevant skills, abilities, and techniques. You can choose among three profiles: Construction Project Management, Real Estate Development and Land Law, and Building and Real Estate Economics. While a few courses are mandatory for all students, most courses are conditionally elective. Some conditionally elective courses in the 'Real Estate Development and Land Law' profile are taught only in Swedish.In the final semester, you will conduct a master's degree project, a detailed study of a subject area within the programme's scope. The degree project provides the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired from the courses to a problem chosen within the research profile. You can carry out the degree project at a company in Sweden or abroad. You may also work independently in an area of choice, as long as it falls within the research area of the profile.The active student-centred and experimental approach to teaching and learning means that class projects include computer classes, group projects, field trips, case studies, and industry and job-oriented events. The programme is embedded in Sweden's leading academic environment for education and research in law, economics, management, and finance related to real estate development, construction and property management and geodesy. The department's close links with industry, local professional bodies, and a strong alumni network allow the programme to continually stay abreast of current developments and integrate these into our course offerings and other industry-academia events such as guest lectures, talks, seminars, and job fairs, boosting your possibilities in the job market after graduation. Additionally, our industry-university alliances, student union, and various student clubs provide numerous opportunities for a vibrant campus life and a seamless transition into the professional world. Altogether, the programme offers a solid foundation in fundamental theories and models that have proven their relevance over decades, while also engaging with emerging industry topics such as sustainability, demographic change, and technology (AI, PropTech). This combination prepares graduates to meet both current and future challenges in the real estate and construction sectors.
