Study at KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH Royal Institute of Technology was founded in 1827 and is Sweden's largest and oldest institution for technical education and research, accounting for roughly one third of the country's capacity in engineering and technical research. Its main campus lies on Valhallavägen in central Stockholm, with additional campuses at Flemingsberg, Kista and Solna. Education and research are organised in five schools covering architecture and the built environment, electrical engineering and computer science, engineering sciences, engineering sciences in chemistry, biotechnology and health, and industrial engineering and management. KTH reports around 17,000 students, of whom roughly 28 percent are international. Research strengths include engineering, computer science, materials, energy and sustainability. KTH is placed 78th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and =98th in the THE World University Rankings 2026, with engineering ranked 40th by THE. More than 60 master's programmes are taught entirely in English, and the university runs an accommodation service for international students alongside extensive student union and campus life through THS.
